Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Apprentice II Carpenter to join our construction team. This position works under the supervision of a ForemanApprentence II or Journeyman and is responsible for performing general labor and advanced apprentice-level carpentry duties. The ideal candidate will have experience with framing support, lath and stucco installation, weatherproofing, window and door installation, and dry rot repair. Candidates should be eager to continue developing their carpentry skills while maintaining high safety and quality standards on the job site.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all General Laborer duties including:
    • Loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
    • Assisting with demolition
    • Supporting safety set-up
    • Maintaining job-site cleanliness
  • Cut construction materials under direction
  • Develop and apply progressive carpentry skills on active job sites
  • Assist with and perform:
    • Lath and stucco installation
    • Window and door installation
    • Flashing and weatherproofing
    • Dry rot framing repair
  • Assist with framing, weather barrier installation, wood siding, and trim installation
  • Apply caulking and sealants as needed
  • Work safely on scaffolds, ladders, and elevated work areas
  • Follow all company safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Support Foremen and Journeymen with daily project tasks and responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum construction experience preferred with demonstrated carpentry aptitude
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Construction practices and procedures
    • Framing principles
    • Weather barriers
    • Wood siding and trim installation
  • Competent in:
    • Lath and stucco installation
    • Window and door installation
    • Flashing and weatherproofing techniques
    • Dry rot repair and associated framing principles
  • Proficient in caulking and sealant application
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Must have own hand tools or be willing to purchase required tools
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication and soldering preferred
  • Ability to work in high spaces on scaffolds and ladders
  • Ability to lift materials and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

Compensation

  • $25.00 โ€“ $35.00 per hour, depending on experience

Work Environment

  • Outdoor construction and restoration job-site environment
