Position Responsibilities:

  • Complete all technical schooling provided by WLT
    • Classroom
    • E-Learning
    • On-the-job
  • Assist journeyman technicians with service jobs as assigned to you.
  • Develop skills to check-in and check-out our rental equipment
  • Develop skills needed to properly set up new equipment sold to our customers
  • Develop skills needed to prepare stock used equipment so that it is ready for resale, per instructions provided
  • Work with parts department for parts needed to complete repairs
  • Document all recommended additional repairs found, work with Shop Foreman or Lead Tech on preparing quote for customer
  • Communicate with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and/or Shop Manager on any unusual service problems encountered or for any technical assistance needed.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (timecards, maintenance reports etc).
  • Communicate with Shop Foreman and/or lead tech as to status of jobs assigned to you
  • Offer assistance to other shop techs, as appropriate
  • Keep shop clean and organized – clean up spills (oil, etc) immediately.
  • Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Must show ability to retain knowledge of skills needed to repair powered industrial equipment
  • Must successfully complete any training courses required.
  • Must be a good communicator – written and verbal.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
  • Must own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
  • Must be certified to operate material handling equipment (we will provide this certification)
  • Commitment to company vision and mission

  • Physical demands: Employee lifts and carries up to 60 pounds on a very occasional basis, 5-30 pounds more frequently, and up to 30 pounds very frequently. Employee is required to frequently stand, recline (lying on back), kneel, walk, twist, reach, and use feet to repair and operate machinery. Employee is required to occasionally sit, stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and crawl. Constant use of hands and fingers to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, computer equipment, and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have listening, speaking, and writing skills to communicate with customers and internal staff. (NOTE: Refer also to Functional Job Description document completed by Froedtert WARC for Shop Technician in April 2018).
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment can include loud noises, and vibration. Might be exposed to mists, dust, odors or gases, and will be frequently exposed to moving machinery or parts, and power tools.. When performing duties of this job, it is a requirement to wear Personal Protective Equipment whenever appropriate – to include (but not limited to) hard hats, steel-toe safety shoes, and safety glasses.
