Basic Function:
To assist the shop supervisor with small engine repairs, basic auto service and repair, handy-man services, inventory and organization, materials and tool tracking, supply replenishment, deliveries, and light janitorial duties.
At times you may be asked to accompany a plumber in the field to assist in any area of the trade including, but not limited to, inspecting, repairing, modifying, installing and maintaining plumbing fixtures in heating, water and drain systems. Assembling and repairing pipe systems of various shapes, sizes and pressures and cleaning blocked drains, toilets, sinks, manholes, and lift stations.
The most qualified individual for this position will exhibit great attention to detail and always perform all functions in the safest manner utilizing all proper safety precautions at all times.

  • Have full use of the body and senses to be able to maintain and operate assigned equipment safely,
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record and must pass extensive background check,
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to climb and balance on equipment,
  • Must be able to crawl in tight spaces and bend and stoop around equipment,
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds,
  • Must have excellent eye sight and depth perception,
  • Must be a US citizen or legal resident alien,

Duties
Duties required include but are not limited to:
  • Build and assemble small engine machines or mechanical components according to manufacturer requirements,
  • Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues,
  • Perform repairs which aim for maximum reliability,
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all issues reported in a timely manner,
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components,
  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery,
  • Provide care and use guidance to all users on any and all equipment you may be asked to service or maintain,
  • Identify plumbing, electrical and safety problems applicable to the location and take appropriate corrective action,
  • Maintenance of customer owned pipe systems and fixtures as scheduled,
  • Maintain company owned equipment, tools and vehicles
  • Digging ditches,
  • Mixing and pouring concrete,
  • Entering confined spaces,
  • Complete daily work as assigned,
  • Leave work area in a neat and clean condition. Ensure that area is picked up at the end of each job and each day,
  • Use provided tools and equipment with care,
  • Request parts from the plumbing inventory or parts house as needed,
  • Clean tools and equipment as required,
  • Keep Field Supervisor apprised of any problems or complaints,
  • Assist the plumber with whatever is needed to get the job done,
  • Assist in the shop, if needed, to retrieve or deliver parts, assist in mechanic work and perform general maintenance around the shop such as cutting grass, weed eating, mopping, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, office and shop areas,
  • Any other task or duty as may be occasionally assigned by management.
