Dock and Door Technician Apprentice

Currently, we are currently accepting applications for our Dock and Door Apprenticeship program in the Allentown, PA area. We offer tremendous opportunity for growth, competitive compensation and benefits for individuals who want a career with a great company that maintains a family feel! 

This is an entry level position where you can learn the mechanics of overhead doors and dock leveling systems. You will have mentors to guide you through our formal training program, where you will learn how to maintain safety standards and interact with customers. From classroom modules to hands on training, we will prepare you for a career as a Dock and Door Technician! 

Main Duties: 

Assist lead technician in the installation and/or repair of overhead door and dock leveling systems 

Help to resolve issues to customer satisfaction within policy  

Will work to learn troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems pertaining to the operation of overhead doors and dock leveling systems 

Works from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts. Wears PPE and fall protection 

Use of technology (such as tablet & cellphone) for documenting work performed & communication with customers and internal office personnel

Requirements: 

Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (preferred, but not required) 

Welding / fabricating experience a plus 

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds 

Clean driving record 

Customer focused 

Dependable, stable work history 

Comfortable with heights
