Job description

Job Summary:

RMS is seeking to hire a Commercial HVAC Installer that will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units and custom piping solutions. This role requires technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and a customer-centric approach to support RMS’s reputation of excellence in the Mid-Atlantic commercial and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, VAV systems, and custom HVAC piping, adhering to blueprints, specifications, and local codes.
  • Perform system commissioning and testing to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to enhance efficiency and longevity, including filter changes, belt checks, and system diagnostics.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components in commercial HVAC systems.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution on commercial and industrial jobsites.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operation, maintenance needs, and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Strictly adhere to OSHA safely standards, company policies, and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, with proficiency in systems such as VRF, rooftop units, split systems, VAVs, and mini splits.
  • Strong CW, HW, and refrigeration piping knowledge and skill.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification requires; NATE, OSHA 10/30.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, blueprints, schematics, and building automation systems.
  • Ability to like heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access confined spaces in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, completion of an HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.
