The Biomedical Operations Specialist serves as a liaison between the Biomedical Engineering Department and Biomedical customers at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Performs clerical duties using strong interpersonal skills to run the daily administrative operations of Clinical Engineering.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Biomedical Operations Specialist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
  • Prepares/reviews reports and applies statistical analysis to monitor and improve the consistency and reliability of medical devices.
  • Communicates and collaborates with the Director/Manager on administrative and/or operational matters.
  • Maintains regulatory binders in accordance with regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to NJ New Jersey Department of Health (DOH), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Joint Commission, etc.
  • Assists in the preparation of all inspections performed by various governing agencies, study monitors, and all HMH requests.
  • Gathers and analyzes information required to perform tasks and assures timely submissions of regulatory data.
  • Communicates changes in HMH and departmental policy and procedures to the staff. 7. Receives, logs and files reports and other data.
  • Travels to all HMH entities as needed.
  • Maintains files system digitally and physical office files.
  • Documents any issues pertaining to CMMS quality and performance measures.
  • Orders, receives, identifies, labels, and distributes materials to appropriate areas verifying completeness and accuracy accurately and free of errors.
  • Oversees the timely completion of all mandatory training by departmental team members.
  • Oversees implementation of administrative decisions and the maintenance of official records of operational activities.
  • Tracks/monitors contract deliverables to ensure compliance.
  • Collects time sheets for each site.
  • Monitors recalls and advises team and leaders.
  • Distributes regional On-Call schedule.
  • Provides administrative and operational support to outsourced accounting functions.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Minimum of 2 years clerical experience.
  • Experience with resource scheduling and computer systems/software.
  • Knowledge of healthcare equipment and vendors.
  • Workplace relationship building.
  • Proficient computer skills, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and demonstrate functional competencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proficiency in the Google Suite of software.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
