Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) has an exciting opportunity on their team in Berkeley, MO, for a Tooling Mechanic - Large Structure Fabrication.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Large structure fabrication and assembly is the primary responsibility of this position
  • Fabricate, maintain, modify, & install various forms of tooling, such as large and small engineering test fixtures, fabrication equipment, etc. in collaboration with engineering design teams
  • Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components (Examples: Marvel saw, surface grinder, drill press, etc.)
  • Other responsibilities to include: Blueprint Reading, Tooling Inspection, 3D Model Interrogation, Machining, Welding, Laser Tracking

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ years' experience in large structure fabrication, ironworking, or as a millwright
  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience ironworking or working in a structure or tool fabrication environment
  • Experience with safe heavy load lifting via forktrucks, mobile or overhead cranes
  • Certificate or Degree or Technical Trade School Certificate (Or appropriate apprenticeship completion)
  • Experience with Verisurf software
  • Experience using manual inspection and CPU driven equipment such Laser Trackers

Additional Information:
  • The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
  • This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
  • New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period.
