Position Summary

Part time adjunct position located in the new Clauson Center for Innovation and Skilled Trades on the Arnold campus. Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in Electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage or Plumbing trade. The instructor is to follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. Content is housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Instructors must have some computer experience, expertise in the trade and the ability to effectively manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required. A desire to share your knowledge of the industry with future skilled trades workers is a must! Instructors will be required to adhere to Anne Arundel Community College's Adjunct Faculty Instructional policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare materials needed for course instruction, labs, testing, supplies;
Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized;
Familiar with NEC code book;
Relate instruction and material to course objectives;
Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal safety and power/hand tool safety;
Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff;
Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner;

Required Qualifications:

Journeyman/Master license or Journeyman level of knowledge in electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage or Plumbing trade;
Safety Awareness and knowledge of NEC Code book as appropriate;
Thorough knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools and equipment used in the trade;

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 10, OSHA 30 preferred.
