Job Description: This is an opportunity for an Associate Systems Engineer with an interest in advancing and applying innovative systems engineering techniques to help solve some of our nation's most critical challenges. We are looking for highly motivated, adaptive, and self-directed candidates with motivation to join our technical workforce, expand their technical skills and capabilities, and grow our work supporting the development and deployment of nationally important solutions through Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Systems Architecture and Requirements Engineering, System-of-Systems, Systems Thinking and practices. As an Associate Systems Engineer, you will leverage and grow your systems engineering expertise to support the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems and systems-of-systems and analysis of missions for federal agencies. Specific responsibilities may include: * Using your understanding of systems and mission engineering and an awareness of sponsor needs to determine areas where MITRE can have an impact
* Applying modern methods and tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics to assess capability needs, requirements, architecture, designs, performance constraints and gaps, proposed changes, and verification and test approaches
* Evaluating and comparing alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques; exploring large tradespaces
* Identifying and developing metrics to measure and analyze relevant system properties, such as robustness, resiliency, interoperability, quality, and maintainability
* Supporting requirements management, interface management and architecture change management processes
* Performing System Design and development (such as software development), systems modernization, and architecture
* Supporting multiple tasks across several government sponsored projects in a small to large team environment Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
* Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and MATLAB
* Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering (DE) concepts
* Experience with statistical analysis and modeling
* Interest in complex multi-disciplinary problems
* Willingness and ability to learn new tools/concepts in a variable environment of government sponsors
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance. * This position requires a minimum of 3 days a week on-site. Preferred Qualifications: * Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance
* Advanced degree in related field of study
* Experience with multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation (physics-level, engineering-level and/or socio-technical-level) * Experience with Digital Engineering integration through internship, research, or academic projects This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):
