Job description

Position Title

Professor of Practice – Computer Information Systems, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Atlanta

Position Description

As part of Georgia State University’s strategic initiative to lead in artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology (FinTech) – especially as applied to financial services – the Department of Computer Information Systems seeks a non‑tenure track Professor of Practice. The role will add depth and breadth in this interdisciplinary area within the Robinson College of Business.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to research projects in AI and financial technologies.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI applications and financial technology innovations.
  • Develop innovative, practice‑anchored curriculum featuring internships, apprenticeships, and capstone projects.
  • Engage with industry partners to provide real‑world learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculty to advance the department’s research and educational missions.
Required Experience
  • At least 25 years of industry experience in information technology, financial technology, or related areas.
  • Experience developing practice‑anchored learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, and capstone projects.
  • Senior executive experience leading strategic initiatives with varied stakeholders.
Required Education

Earned doctoral degree in a relevant field with an emphasis on bridging research and practice from an accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in financial technology.

Work Hours

May require non‑standard hours, including day, evening, online, hybrid, and weekends.

Salary

USD 150,000 per year.
