Job description


We're seeking team members who enjoy machine operations and an industrial setting. Do you love working with your hands? We're hiring and excited to meet you! We’re seeking skilled machine operators to set up, trouble-shoot robotic welding equipment and to train operators on their use.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Responsible for the set-up, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and training of robotic welding equipment. Provide technical knowledge support for the Manufacturing Operations Teams while also performing duties of Production. Coordinates and/or facilitates communication between Manufacturing, Engineering and Maintenance. Supports cost reduction, quality and process improvement initiatives as related to supplies and consumables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

  • Basic robotic programming (to include adding, modifying or removing position points; adding or modifying arch start files)
  • Basic fixture and tooling (to include datum adjustments and sensor replacements on tooling)
  • Welding (to include achieving RFC manual welder qualifications)
  • Basic robotic preventative maintenance (to include wire feeder, driver roll, welding torch and hose pack, wire liner, and goose neck replacements)
  • Basic operator training (to include loaders, welders and inspectors)
  • Assists Maintenance/Engineering with trouble shooting of equipment and process problems.
  • Analyzes when to call support department resources to assist operators.
  • Provides technical support problem solving expertise to Production.
  • Works cooperatively with all department areas; Quality Assurance, Engineering, Customer Service, Maintenance.
  • Aids in installation of equipment and equipment relocations.
  • Performs daily or weekly paperwork/reporting as required.
  • Aides in training/developing team members technically.
  • Participates in Lean Production program.
  • Researches and performs trials on supplies and consumables that will provide improved cost and/or quality.
  • Helps maintain consumable inventory levels.
  • Understands and follows appropriate SOPs, work instructions, and use of blueprints.
  • Promotes a positive attitude to instill confidence in other Production employees.
  • Uses safe working practices and performs work as efficiently as possible.
  • Follows good housekeeping practices.
  • Complies with all quality and ISO standards.
  • Completes training on new and existing equipment.
  • Utilizes Lock-Out-Tag-out procedures to secure equipment.
  • (Preferred but not required) Receives training and acts as a First Responder to medical injuries.

Schedule: This role will primarily work 6:00am – 6:00pm Friday to Sunday OR 6:00PM – 6:00AM Friday – Sunday with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1-3 years of experience or equivalent training/education: setting up machines, operating specialized machines

Preferred experience

  • Experience with robotics, jigs, fixtures and gas metal arc welding.
  • Experience with troubleshooting to assist maintenance department and provide technical support.
