Apprentice Rigging information

Is 27 too old for an apprenticeship?

Apprentice rigging programs typically do not have strict age limits, and individuals of 27 can successfully pursue such apprenticeships. Success depends on physical ability, willingness to learn, and meeting any specific program requirements, such as safety certifications or prior experience. Age is generally not a barrier to entering a rigging apprenticeship if the candidate is committed and meets the program criteria.

What does a rigging apprentice do?

A rigging apprentice assists with setting up and maintaining rigging systems used to lift and move heavy equipment or materials. They learn to inspect rigging gear, follow safety protocols, and work under supervision to develop skills in rigging techniques and equipment handling. This role often involves working in construction, theater, or industrial environments and may require knowledge of tools, safety standards, and basic engineering principles.

How much do trainee riggers earn?

Trainee riggers typically earn between $12 and $20 per hour, depending on location, industry, and level of experience. As they gain skills and certifications, such as OSHA safety training or rigging certifications, their wages can increase. Entry-level positions often include on-the-job training and safety protocols in a construction or industrial environment.

What is the highest paying apprenticeship trade?

Apprentice rigging jobs in the construction and industrial sectors can be among the highest paying trades, especially for those who gain specialized skills and certifications such as OSHA safety training or crane operation. Typically, these apprenticeships offer higher wages as workers gain experience and take on more complex tasks involving heavy equipment and safety protocols.
