Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: Day - 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday (with weekend availability)

Location: Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD

Position Purpose:

  • The painter construct, repair, and renovates ceilings,drywall,and plaster materials, and paint to specifications.

As a "Painter" you will:

  • Responds to emergent calls promptly and courteously.

  • Prep walls prior to painting

  • Ability to properly select and measure quantity of material.

  • Maintain/Repair/replace damage walls/floors in all patient rooms and common areas.

  • Assist refinishing of hospital furniture.

  • Maintain essential tools and equipment inventory.

  • Paint frame walls, repair and install cove base.

  • Demolish plaster walls and ceilings damaged by water and mildew in preparation for damage repair, leaving site clean and safe.

  • Repair sheet rock and do plaster to damaged areas.

  • Determine supplies needed for work and maintain essential tools and equipment inventory and cleaning tools as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, 4 years painter's apprenticeship or 2 years on the job training experience in wall finishing and floor tile installation.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.

  • Weekend work and shift rotation may be required.

Pay rate: $24.12 - $37.43

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
