Painter Helper / Apprentice – Start Building Your Career

Martin Painting & Coating Co. is looking for dependable individuals interested in developing skills in commercial and industrial painting.

If you're looking for an opportunity to learn a skilled trade, work with experienced professionals, and build a long-term career, this position provides hands-on experience in a professional painting environment.

Position Summary

Painter Helpers and Apprentices support experienced painters with surface preparation, coating application, equipment setup, cleanup, and other project activities while developing the skills needed for commercial and industrial painting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced painters with daily project activities.

  • Help prepare surfaces for painting and coating.

  • Assist with sanding, scraping, cleaning, and masking.

  • Help protect surrounding surfaces and equipment.

  • Assist with paint and coating application.

  • Help move and organize materials and equipment.

  • Learn proper use and care of painting tools.

  • Assist with equipment setup and cleanup.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.

  • Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced crew members.

  • Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.

  • Work as part of a team to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications
  • Previous painting or construction experience is helpful but not required.

  • Willingness to learn commercial and industrial painting.

  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Comfortable performing physical work.
