Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Transmission Technician to join our service team. This role is ideal for a developing technician who already has hands-on experience rebuilding transmissions and is ready to advance their skills within a professional GM-certified environment. You will work under the guidance of senior transmission technicians and shop leadership while performing high-quality diagnostic, repair, and rebuild work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, and rebuilding automatic and manual GM transmissions.
  • Perform inspections, fluid services, and component replacements following GM standards.
  • Support senior technicians with complex transmission repairs and driveline diagnostics.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with dealership and GM guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing GM training and certification programs.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience rebuilding transmissions (any brand; GM experience preferred).
  • Basic understanding of automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to use standard shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the GM technician career path.
