Position Summary:

We are currently looking for entry level Geotechnical-Construction focused Field Engineers to join our team. Field Engineers ensure the job stays on schedule and provide support to Operations and Project Managers. Organization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus, strong communication, and ability to multitask are important in performing duties of this project/field-based role. This position is critical to the success of Harrison Western.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports operations/crews in the installation of work activities by assisting in the understanding of drawings and specifications.
  • Perform on-site QA/QC including testing and sampling.
  • Participate in site investigations, project handoff and start-up, update, and closeout meetings as needed.
  • Assist Project Manager in creating, updating, and utilizing schedule information to help determine required materials, subcontractor scheduling, staffing, and other aspects of project management.
  • Help in preparing, organizing, and coordinating RFI, submittal, and invoicing documents related to assigned scope of work.
  • Inventory, organize, procure, and maintain materials and tooling for work activities.
  • Assist in determining pricing options for potential change orders.
  • Assist Estimating department in plan take offs, spec review, cost gathering, preparation of estimates and proposals.
  • Assist new bidding opportunities, research plans for potential opportunities.
  • Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Organization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus, strong communication, and ability to multitask are critical in performing duties of this project/field-based role which include but are not limited to.
  • Thorough understanding of specifications, drawings, and job requirements for projects, or portions of projects assigned.
  • Inventory, organize, procure, and maintain materials and tooling for work activities.
  • Extensive travel and presence at different jobsites throughout the United States required.

Required Skills:

  • Detail oriented sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly

Education:


Associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience.
