We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $32.00-$41.00 hourly wage. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
The primary purpose of a Senior Tool Maker is to apply engineering principles to drive process improvements in the manufacturing of medical devices that positively affect Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety and Moral.
Responsibilities:
• Adheres to Viant Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements including but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
• Create fixtures, tools, and gaging utilizing both manual and CNC 3, 4 & 5 axis mills, lathes, turn/mills, grinders, and Wire EDM machines in accordance to blueprints per both internal and customer requirements.
• Support NPI production including identification of best practice manufacturing processes and inspection methods.
• Review and disposition product based on quality standards.
• Reviews, creates and revises CAD models and/or CAM programs.
• Supports manufacturing engineers on projects and initiatives.
• Assists in and investigates improvement opportunities.
• Assists in training production workforce in proper setup and use of equipment as necessary.
• Performs other functions as necessary to support the business.
Qualifications:
• Extensive CNC machinist experience.
• Complete working knowledge of both manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and wire EDM machines.
• Understanding of metals machining, processing, and finishing.
• Ability to inspect complex products using industry-appropriate methods.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Proficient in MasterCAM.
