Job description

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity as an Instrument and Control Electrical Technician to join our team!
The successful candidate will maintain and repair electrical, pneumatic, electronic, control computers and network systems at the Citizens Thermal Perry K Steam plant, Perry K Screenhouse, and Eskenazi Chiller-Boiler
plant. This includes maintaining generators and switchgear operating at voltages up to 5,000
volts, environmental equipment maintenance repair and reporting, instrumentation equipment
testing/calibration during daytime shift, and participate in 24/7 on-call program. Must
demonstrate proficiency in safe electrical work practices, knowledge the safe operation of
industrial electrical switchgear, breakers and motor starters.
**This position is located at Citizens Energy Group at 366 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

Responsibilities
  • Emergency repairs
  • Install equipment, maintain equipment, test 250-650psig boiler high pressure vessel interlocks, overhaul motors up to 700 hp and boiler equipment. Calibrate, design, program and tune electronic equipment associated with Boiler Distributed Control System (DCS), with Symphony+. Maintain Siemens Telegyr network management Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA). Maintain Softener control systems with Allen Bradley Programmable logic controllers (PLC). Perform LOTO of Electrical systems. Document completion of maintenance in EAM Work-order management system. Interpret and update Instrumentation & Electrical
    Diagrams, Schematics. Retrieve and apply Product Center archived drawings in daily work.
  • Maintain, test, calibrate Environmental monitoring equipment. Perform quarterly Linearity tests and audits. Assist with annual Relative Accuracy Test Audit (RATA). Maintain log of all maintenance per regulation on all environmental monitoring systems and analyzers.
  • Maintain electrical 4,160V and 480V switchgear, perform breaker racking, 5 MW and
    1.7 MW Generator units utilizing Woodward 505 Governor digital control systems. Troubleshoot & maintain motor starter controls, variable speed drives and all electrical devices within the Perry K power plant, Screenhouse, and boiler-associated systems at Eskenazi Chiller-Boiler plant. Act as in-house Electrician.
  • Support customers and other groups as needed (Operations, Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, and Contractors).

Qualifications
• AAS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, i.e., Journeyman Electrician's card for approved apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
• Experience with blueprint and electrical schematic drawing interpretation.
• 2 years' experience in the electrical or electronic field.
• 2 years' experience in the instrumentation field.
• Experienced in breaker control and synchronization methods
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5 Years in the Electronic/Instrumentation /Electrical field in a power generation environment with:
    1. DCS Boiler Control systems
    2. Power Generators & Generator synchronization
    3. Breaker control and synchronization
    4. High Pressure Vessel interlock requirements (testing, documentation, and verification)
    5. Knowledge of environmental rules, regulations, auditing, and reporting Procedures
    6. Environmental monitoring equipment training.
    7. PLC Programmer/Technician.
    8. Environmental monitoring equipment training.
    9. Computer Technician.
