  • Perform pipefitting, plumbing, oxygen cutting, brazing of copper piping, and refractory repair and installation.


Job description

Our company is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting welder to fill an opening in our Knoxville, TN location. Our company specializes in boiler and boiler related equipment sales, service and repair, with offices in Georgia and Tennessee. The position classification within our company is that of Boilermaker. Below is a list of the duties, responsibilities amp; required qualifications necessary to be considered for employment.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  1. Welding amp; Fit-Up (Shielded Metal, Gas Metal Arc amp; Gas Tungsten Arc)
  2. Oxygen Cutting (Acetylene)
  3. Brazing of Copper Piping
  4. Pipefitting amp; Plumbing
  5. Prepare boilers for inspection
  6. Mechanical installation of boilers amp; boiler related equipment
  7. Remove and replace tubes on boilers
  8. Refractory repair and installation
  9. Perform all other duties assigned by the Service Manager amp; Service Coordinator

Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. 2‐3 years relevant experience in service, repair and/or mechanical operations
  3. Must have a valid driver's license
  4. Knowledge in boiler service, repair and/or operations desirable, but not required
  5. Certified A.S.M.E. welder desirable, but not required
  6. Past pipefitting and/or plumbing experience desirable, but not required
  7. Basic computer skills

Physical amp; Personal Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift 50lbs + from floor to waist and waist to above head
  2. Able to climb and use a ladder, forklift amp; scissor lift
  3. Ability to stand for 6+ hours a day
  4. Ability to work in varying temperatures (Hot amp; Cold)
  5. Successfully pass a drug test and background check
  6. Efficient, organized amp; the willingness to adapt to change
  7. Ability to self‐direct, with reasonable, reliable attendance
  8. Good communication and customer service skills
  9. Problem solving skills with a “Can/Will Do” attitude
