Location: Austin, TX
Pay Rate: $37.00 - $42.00 per hour
Per Diem: $90/day (for qualified travelers)
Schedule: Monday - Saturday
Hours: 40-50 Hours Per Week
Duration: Long-Term Commercial/Industrial Project

Position Overview

We are currently hiring experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Journeyman Electricians for a long-term commercial and industrial construction project in Austin, Texas. This position is strictly for Journeyman-level electricians and requires advanced knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, troubleshooting, and industrial installations.

Candidates must possess a Journeyman Electrician License or be able to demonstrate Journeyman-level experience performing electrical and controls work independently. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to oversee apprentices, and extensive experience interpreting electrical specifications, drawings, and code requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation and control systems in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, and project specifications.
  • Install and terminate power, control, and instrumentation wiring.
  • Perform conduit installation and wire pulling in accordance with project requirements.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and commission electrical and control equipment.
  • Assist with project planning, material take-offs, and coordination of electrical installations.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and project specifications.
  • Guide and oversee apprentice electricians while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineers, and other trades to ensure project success.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment while adhering to OSHA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician License preferred and highly desired.
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience at the Journeyman level.
  • Strong Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and installation practices.
  • Thorough understanding of current electrical codes and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience leading crews and mentoring apprentice electricians.
  • OSHA 10 Certification required.
  • Proficient in operating aerial lifts and elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to accurately complete material take-offs and assist with project planning.

Tools & Equipment Experience

Candidates must be proficient in the use of:

Physical Requirements
