Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We're always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. We are focused on hiring only those exceptional individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to the collective goal of maintaining our Aecon 'zero injury' culture.

ACSI is seeking Construction Millwright Journeypersons who will be integral to our project's success, responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and maintain equipment. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to the safe operation of equipment on the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts. 
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance).
  • Align and test equipment and adjust.
  • Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Trouble-shoot hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls.
  • Tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
  • Perform field work to a high quality and provide thorough follow up with proper and efficient documentation of work.
  • Perform proactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs for a wide range of Instrumentation and control equipment, such as Hydraulic operated valves, various pressure and flow measurements, radiation density Gauges, Radar level transmitters, CCTV monitoring systems, Computerized control systems.
  • Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

Requirements and Experience

  • Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or Inter-Provincial Red Seal
  • CSTS-20 Certificate
  • Fall Protection - In Class
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform - In Class
  • Confined Space - In Class
  • Experience as a Millwright in an industrial construction environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check.

Rate: $30.00 to $50.00 per hour

Overtime: After 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week

Schedule: 14x7 (days/nights), 11 hours per day.

Allowances: Transportation allowance ranging from $0<85km to $1,406.00>2,000km provided based on approved proof of residency documents submitted
