Position Title: Physician (Neurology) at Fort Carson, Colorado

Location: Evans Army Community Hospital, Intrepid Spirit Center, Fort Carson, CO

• Function as a physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury within the Neurology field, responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of outpatients in the clinic.
• Provide evaluations or recommendations for neurology-related issues in the referral area through phone consultations, telemedicine, and the assessment of air evacuation patients as necessary.
• Prepare, write, and dictate medical summaries for medical retention boards.
• Draft or dictate physical profiles, medical evaluation boards, fitness for duty assessments, and other relevant documentation as required.
• Supervise, instruct, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Eligibility: Open to U.S. Citizens

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts must be submitted with your application.

• Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. This degree must be recognized by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or another accrediting body acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education at the time of graduation.
• If holding a foreign medical degree, it must demonstrate educational equivalency to accredited U.S. institutions, evidenced by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the U.S. and graduate education abroad, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Graduate Training: Following the attainment of a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.

Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited residency program in Neurology and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Note that experience cannot substitute for the residency training required for this specialty.

If selected for this position, you will not receive a salary quote at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process will commence after the acceptance of the initial offer, involving the Activity Compensation Panel to establish your base pay and market pay, which will be communicated to you once approved.

For candidates utilizing education from foreign institutions to meet qualification standards, it is necessary to provide evidence that the educational credentials have been evaluated by a recognized organization specializing in the assessment of foreign education programs, confirming that they are equivalent to those obtained in an accredited U.S. program. Full credit must be granted for courses taken at a U.S. accredited college or university.
