Gopfert Assistant - 3rd Shift
SUMMARY:
The Gopfert Flexo-Die Cutter Apprentice will be trained to be able to set up trouble shoot and operate both the flexo and die cutter sections of the machine. Daily job duties below will apply to the Apprentice position. Apprentice will operate the Gopfert when situations warrant
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  • Set up Flexo and die cutter sections of the Gopfert.
  • Mounting, retrieving and returning of printing plates and Cutting dies for the Gopfert.
  • Help operator evaluate print and die cut production quality; bring concerns to the attention of the operator.
  • Clean printing plates as needed.
  • Help operator monitor and maintain the overall printing and die cutting process and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Operate the feeder section of the machine when in production.
  • Assist in the direction and training of helpers assigned to assist with the workload.
  • Responsible for prepping machine for the next production run with corrugated sheets, cutting dies, printing plates, etc.
  • Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Overtime is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED minimum.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must have prior printing experience.
  • Requires the ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products.
