Quality Inspection Technician

Location: Enfield, CT
Job Type: Contract, On-Site
Schedule: 48 hours per week, Monday–Saturday within a 6:00 AM–6:00 PM service window
Overtime: Hours worked over 40 per week are paid at 1.5x for hourly roles

About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Inspection Technician to support aerospace manufacturing and distribution operations in Enfield, CT. This role will primarily focus on the inspection and processing of aero-engine hardware at Receiving and on orders prepared for Shipping.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical inspection, blueprint reading, GD&T, quality documentation, gaging, and technical data entry. Experience supporting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/AS 9102) is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect aero-engine hardware at Receiving and verify orders ready for Shipping.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using hand gages, optical comparators, advanced/Johnson thread gages, and other inspection equipment.
  • Read and apply engineering blueprints and quality requirements to inspection activities.
  • Review quality documentation for availability, accuracy, and completeness, including Certificates of Conformance (C of C).
  • Enter and retrieve technical data and quality records accurately across internal systems, databases, and customer portals.
  • Support the preparation and verification of First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) packages in accordance with AS 9102 requirements.
  • Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming material.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and digital photographic documentation.
  • Interact with multiple computer systems and software applications.
  • Collaborate daily with project/team leaders and peers.
  • Work effectively within procedure-based and regulatory-controlled environments.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, quality, safety, integrity, and customer service.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in quality inspection or a closely related technical role.
  • Associate/Technical degree preferred.
  • Candidates without a technical degree should have 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and quality requirements.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and its application to inspection and gaging.
  • Hands-on experience performing manual inspections using:
    • Hand gages
    • Optical comparators
    • Advanced/Johnson thread gages
    • Visual inspection methods
  • Experience reviewing, verifying, compiling, and maintaining technical and quality records.
  • Experience with quality documentation.
  • Ability to accurately enter and retrieve technical data in computer systems and databases.
  • Experience supporting AS 9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Daily working proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform detailed, semi-recurring tasks with consistent accuracy.
  • Experience working in regulated, procedure-driven environments.
