Electrical Service Technician


A Kortman Electrical Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical service while providing an exceptional client experience. This position operates in alignment with Kortman’s Core Values, maintaining professionalism, accountability, and integrity always.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical service work, maintenance, and troubleshooting at commercial and industrial job sites
  • Diagnose issues, develop effective plans of action, and execute repairs safely and efficiently
  • Identify and overcome unforeseen field conditions with sound judgment and technical expertise
  • Provide professional, client-facing service that reflects Kortman’s standards and values
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms for scheduling, dispatching, documentation, and billing
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed
  • Operate independently, performing assignments out of a service vehicle 
  • May lead or coordinate work activities of apprentices, trade partners, or subcontractors

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Journey-level electrical experience as a Service Technician
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop job-site work plans

Experience in any of the following is a plus:


  • Electrical controls
  • Solar operations and maintenance
  • Medium-voltage systems
  • Conveyors and automation
  • Low voltage systems (fire alarm, fiber optics, security, communications, data)

Technology Requirements:


  • Ability and willingness to use smartphones, tablets, and computers for daily work functions
  • Comfort navigating field service software, reporting tools, and digital communication platforms

Requirements:


  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including motor vehicle record review, drug screening, and background check, consistent with applicable law
