Job description

Concrete Lead Hand

Maple Reinders is seeking a Concrete Lead Hand to support the Foreman or Superintendent in the safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of concrete construction work on projects in Bradford, Wasaga Beach, Dundalk, and surrounding areas. This role is hands‑on and combines formwork and concrete work with crew coordination, daily task direction, and layout support to meet productivity and schedule targets.

The Lead Hand helps maintain workflow, supports crew performance, and ensures work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of assigned concrete crews
  • Communicate daily work plans, priorities, and production targets
  • Support formwork, concrete placement, stripping, and resetting of forms
  • Assist with layout, elevations, and verification of dimensions and tolerances
  • Inspect formwork and embedded items prior to concrete placement
  • Identify and correct deficiencies before pours
  • Lead by example in health and safety practices
  • Participate in hazard assessments and toolbox talks
  • Coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, and other trades
  • Monitor productivity and assist with maintaining workflow and site logistics

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of concrete construction experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience with formwork, placing, and finishing
  • Knowledge of wall and slab formwork systems (Meva or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience leading small crews or acting in a senior field role
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and productivity
