Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Execution
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for electrical installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clear understanding of project scope and deliverables.
• Conduct site evaluations and pre-construction meetings to identify potential challenges and opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and other relevant regulations.
2. Resource Management
• Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment effectively to ensure timely project completion.
• Oversee the procurement of project materials and tools, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Monitor and track project progress, adjusting resources as needed to stay on schedule and within budget.
3. Team Leadership
• Supervise and provide direction to electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors on-site.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes safety, teamwork, and high-quality standards.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project updates, expectations, and feedback.
4. Client Relations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and changes to the project scope.
• Provide regular updates to clients, including progress reports, schedule changes, and budget adjustments.
• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and maintain strong professional relationships.
5. Financial Management
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
• Monitor project expenditures, identify cost overruns, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents related to projects.
6. Quality Assurance and Safety
• Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and client specifications.
• Enforce company safety policies and compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Identify and address potential hazards, implementing preventative measures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensure that all team members wear appropriate PPE, including steel-toed boots, and adhere to dress code requirements.
7. Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, schedules, change orders, and daily logs.
• Prepare and present progress reports for internal and client review.
• Ensure all required permits, inspections, and certifications are completed and documented.
8. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution
• Address and resolve project-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
• Mediate disputes between clients, team members, or subcontractors professionally and effectively.
• Develop contingency plans to manage unexpected challenges and ensure project continuity.
Qualifications
1. Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management or a similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and maintenance practices.
2. Skills and Competencies
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
3. Certifications
• OSHA 30 certification (required).
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (preferred).
• Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician license (preferred).
Working Conditions
• Primarily field-based with time spent on construction sites and occasional office work.
• Requires physical activity, including walking and standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel to various project locations within a 60-mile radius of Winchester, VA.
