Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Continental - Winchester has a great career opportunity for an Electrical Apprentice. Our mission is to develop a highly skilled position within the Electrical Department.ย  The Electrical Apprentice will be involved in all aspects of plant mechanical equipment electrical function. The position will report directly to the Electrical Manager. This is a day light position (7 am - 3 pm) on a Monday - Friday schedule. The goal is that after training, education, and testing are completed then the Electrical Apprentice will become a Full-Time Electrician in our plant.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข New equipment installation for projects within a timely manner
โ€ข Troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment
โ€ข Responsible for preventive maintenance for existing equipment
โ€ข Timely response to projects and repair to minimize downtime for equipment and production lines

THE ENVIRONMENT

Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to.ย  Applicants must be able to work in a manufacturing industrial environment and be able to wear personal protective equipment such as safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Enrollment in a formal technical training program (vocational/college level) and/or willing to enroll in the local technical college that our plant is affiliated with for the apprenticeship
  • Must be able to work in industrial environment
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic controls, programmable logic controllers, AC and DC drives, motor controls and instruments is a plus however we will train in these areas
  • Able to read and work from schematics and drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visual Basic
  • No relocation assistance or housing assistance is offered for this position
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.ย  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visasย now or in the futureย for this job opening
  • When an Electrical Apprentice becomes a Full-Time Electrician with our plant, they will most likely be working a 12 Hour Schedule that will be on Nightshift from 7 PM until 7 AM.
