What this job involves:
This internship position provides comprehensive hands-on training and development for individuals pursuing a career in commercial and industrial electrical systems. Working alongside JLL's experienced electricians, you'll gain practical skills in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while supporting our facilities management teams. This role offers a structured learning path to understand electrical systems in commercial buildings, safety protocols, code compliance, and modern electrical technologies in a professional environment.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Learn to properly use testing equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, and voltage testers to diagnose electrical issues
  • Assist with inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, lighting, power outlets, and equipment connections
  • Help install and maintain building electrical systems including lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, and control panels
  • Participate in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Document electrical work performed, materials used, and system modifications in facility management systems
  • Support energy efficiency initiatives through learning about LED retrofits, lighting controls, and efficient electrical system design
  • Attend regular safety training and strictly adhere to electrical safety protocols and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand how electrical systems integrate with other building infrastructure components
  • Participate in comprehensive safety and electrical training programs, both in production environments and classroom settings, to ensure compliance with industry standards and workplace safety protocols
