Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power system automation*.
2. Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
3. Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.
4. Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.
5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
6. Understand. Create. Simplify.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions
Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, control systems)
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
Work experience in electric utilities, industrial plants, communications, computer programming, or construction

Pay Range Data
Associate Project Engineer - $84,000 - $124,000.
Project Engineer I - $97,000 - $144,000.
We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
