Job description


Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Engineer ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise network infrastructure by leading complex operational support, implementing advanced solutions, and driving innovation. This role focuses on optimizing performance, supporting cloud migration, and leveraging automation and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency.
What You'll Do
Operational Integrity
  • Lead resolution of complex network incidents and outages (Tier 3-4) and ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Document incident resolution processes in playbooks and update policies to ensure knowledge sharing and proactive problem management.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including software updates, vulnerability remediation, and compliance checks.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation for network standards and governance.

Architecture & Innovation
  • Research emerging network technologies and provide guidance on design and implementation for large-scale systems.
  • Lead security and compliance initiatives for cloud migration and data center modernization.
  • Implement cloud configurations using automation tools (e.g., Terraform) and support migration to AWS and other environments.
  • Collaborate with vendors on product lifecycle management and strategic planning.
  • Stay current with industry trends and leverage AI and automation to improve network performance.

Engineering & Implementation
  • Assess and optimize network performance, capacity, and scalability; recommend improvements.
  • Implement changes and projects that follow change management protocols, ensuring proper documentation and rollback plans.
  • Develop low-level design documentation for new network services and emerging technologies.
  • Cross-train team members on new implementations and outage resolutions to promote knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure all changes are reviewed, approved, and communicated effectively to minimize risk and impact.

What You'll Need
  • Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years of extensive experience in network engineering and operations.
  • 4-6 years of advanced technical knowledge in networking, cloud, and automation technologies.
  • Advanced expertise in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.), LAN/WLAN switching, SD-WAN routing, and network security.
  • Proficiency in load balancing, converged networks, and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) and network monitoring solutions.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and mentor team members.
