Job description

PER DIEM $178 per day in cedar rapids Iowa jobsite


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installations, startups, troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventative maintenance for electrical systems per drawings and code.
  • Execute First Time Energization (FTE), switching, AutoLOTO, load bank connections/removals, and Level 3–5 commissioning support.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, schematics, and installation plans; lay out conduit, cable tray, and devices.
  • Follow approved Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and safety protocols while maintaining accurate service records.
  • Support and mentor apprentices while coordinating with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Management, and clients.
  • Diagnose issues, respond to service calls, recommend improvements, and complete acceptance testing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Journeyman Electrician License (Iowa state license in good standing OR reciprocal license from AK, AR, CO, MN, MT, NE, NH, ND, OK, SD, TX, WI, or WY).
  • 7+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience; completed apprenticeship required.
  • Direct experience with data center systems, transfer schemes, switchgear, controllers, and process controls.
  • Proficient with conduit bending tools, cable tray layout, device trim, and load bank operations.
  • Strong communication, technical documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Age 18+; able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular onsite work in active construction environments (exposure to varying temperatures, noise, heights, and confined spaces).
  • Physical requirements: Climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking on uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling, and respirator use when required.
  • Regional travel between project locations.
