Job Summary
The Director, Enterprise L&D | Operations & Technology owns the systems, programs, content, and operational infrastructure that allow Loenbro University to run and scale as a standalone, enterprise-wide function. This role is the operational backbone of LU: it builds and manages the learning technology stack and reporting capability, leads instructional design and content development, oversees enterprise programs and cross-functional special projects, and administers Loenbro's education benefit offerings. The role partners closely with peer leadership across Loenbro University to ensure training programs across the organization are supported by reliable systems, high-quality content, and accurate data.
This is a highly cross-functional, execution-oriented leadership role. It owns the enabling infrastructure - technology, content, reporting, and enterprise-level program management - that allows Loenbro University to operate with consistency, credibility, and data-driven visibility as it grows.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Learning Technology & Data
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for the learning management system (LMS) and broader learning technology stack, including platform direction, integrations, and vendor relationships.
  • Define the reporting and analytics strategy that gives L&D and executive leadership visibility into training completion, program effectiveness, and workforce development metrics.
  • Ensure data integrity across learning systems and establish standard reporting cadences for executive and investor audiences.
  • Ensure training records and systems support compliance with applicable training regulations, certification requirements, and apprenticeship standards.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging learning technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to anticipate future learning needs and keep Loenbro University's capabilities current.

Instructional Design & Content
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a scalable content development pipeline across craft, safety, apprenticeship, and leadership curricula.
  • Establish content standards, templates, and quality-review processes so materials produced across the organization are consistent, current, and aligned to adult-learning best practices.
  • Own the content strategy and lifecycle for Loenbro University, ensuring the training content library stays current, accurate, and aligned to organizational needs.
  • Partner with peer leadership across Loenbro University and subject-matter experts to translate program design into finished, deployable training content.

Enterprise Programs & Special Projects
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., mobile training infrastructure, translation technology pilots, and other cross-regional projects) in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring they are scoped, resourced, and delivered on schedule.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between Loenbro University and corporate functions (IT, Finance, Corporate Safety, Operations) on initiatives that touch learning infrastructure.
  • Govern prioritization and resourcing across the enterprise L&D portfolio, ensuring initiatives align with strategic priorities and status is visible to leadership.

Education Benefits Administration
  • Oversee administration of the tuition reimbursement program and the Loenbro-Gravitas partnership, ensuring smooth support for employees and their dependents.
  • Monitor utilization and outcomes of education benefit programs and recommend improvements to drive adoption and retention value.

Leadership & Strategic Partnership
  • Build, lead, and develop a growing team of L&D professionals spanning technology, content, project management, and administrative functions.
  • Partner with the VP of L&D and peer leadership on org-wide strategy, budget planning, and executive/investor-facing reporting.
  • Represent Loenbro University's operations and technology capability in cross-functional and executive discussions, providing concrete metrics and proof points on program performance.

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in learning & development, training operations, or a related field, including prior experience at the director level or equivalent scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing learning technology platforms (LMS administration, content authoring tools) and building reporting/BI capability for a training organization.
  • Experience leading instructional design and content development teams, with a strong grasp of adult-learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, or Agile Learning).
  • Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
  • Experience in a multi-site or multi-state organization; background in industrial, construction, or skilled trades environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with experience presenting data and program performance to senior leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to support regional programs and initiatives.
  • Professional certification such as CPLP, SPHR, or ATD credentials preferred, but not required.
