Residential Electricians & Electrical Apprentices – New Home Construction

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Residential Electricians and Electrical Apprentices for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Indian Trail, NC.

This is a great opportunity for Electrical Apprentices looking to gain hands-on experience as well as experienced Residential Electricians looking for steady, long-term work with a reputable residential electrical contractor.

PAY:

  • Electrical Apprentice: $16.00–$20.00/hour, based on experience
  • Residential Electrician: $21.00–$24.00/hour, based on experience

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Electrical Apprentice: Less than 2 years of residential electrical experience
  • Residential Electrician: 4+ years of residential electrical experience

HOURS: 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, approximately 40+ hours/week
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: Temp-to-hire / potential permanent placement

Job Description

Residential Electricians and Electrical Apprentices will perform and assist with electrical installation and wiring on ground-up new home construction projects. Responsibilities will vary based on experience level and may include:

  • Running and terminating residential electrical wiring
  • Assisting with or performing rough-in and trim-out electrical work
  • Installing outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, panels, breakers, and other electrical devices
  • Assisting with panel installations and electrical equipment
  • Installing receptacles, GFCI/AFCI devices, smoke detectors, and other residential electrical components
  • Reading and following electrical plans, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Using electrical hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment
  • Assisting with troubleshooting electrical issues
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas
  • Following NEC, applicable electrical codes, OSHA requirements, and company safety procedures
  • Working independently or as part of a crew, depending on experience level

Qualifications

Electrical Apprentice:

  • Less than 2 years of residential electrical experience
  • New home construction experience or exposure preferred
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop electrical skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew

Residential Electrician:

  • Minimum 4 years of residential electrical experience
  • Ability to perform residential electrical installation work with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of residential wiring methods and electrical systems
  • Ability to read electrical plans, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Experience with electrical hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment

Both Positions:

  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, twist, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
