Job description

Duties Description Responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of Electrical equipment. While the employee will mostly work on electrical equipment may also be required to work on mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and general building repair.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
The chosen candidate will be required to obtain a Class B permit issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle within 30 days of their appointment. They must obtain a Class B license as a condition of satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
The preferred candidate will have experience working under a journey level Electrician or have apprenticeship training in the electrical trade. The preferred candidate will also have some experience in other recognized skilled trades such as plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
Additional Comments This is a Unit 1 Teamsters position. The NYS Thruway Authority offers an extensive benefits package, including but not limited to paid time off, sick leave incentive, membership to the NYS Retirement System, and 90% tuition assistance.
ADDITIONAL PAY INFORMATION:
This position is eligible for additional annual components of pay which are as follows:
Base Pay: $29.51-$31.95
Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37
