The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

What This Opportunity Is
This is a paid, 12-week apprenticeship program (the "Program") designed to help you build the skills needed to start a career as an automotive technician.
What You'll Do
You'll get your hands dirty learning the ins and outs of the automotive technician field. With guidance, you'll develop new skills to add to your growing toolbox.
  • Work with a mentor technician for coaching and guidance
  • Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
  • Perform basic auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush and vehicle inspection. Work shifts may vary based on business need.
  • Learn to safely use tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Work as part of a team in a fast-paced shop
  • Perform other duties as assigned by mentor, supervisor or manager.

Who You Are
You love working with your hands and your mind. You're passionate about vehicle technology and love to stay up to date on best practices in the auto world. You are mature, focused and ready to work hard
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of related automotive experience
  • A valid driver's license with a safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
  • Have attended or currently attending tech/trade school/2-year college with Automotive training program

To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.
Benefits
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
