Job description

The On-Call Facilities Custodian is responsible for a variety of custodial and maintenance tasks that include routine cleaning of the facility's interior area classrooms, conference rooms, auditorium, gymnasium, hallways, rest rooms, offices and work areas. This position also sets up and tears down event space and do routine checks and general repair building repair, maintenance and upkeep. This position reports to the Agency Operations Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure facility interior and exterior is free from debris and trash.
• Floor cleaning that may involve buffing, waxing, mopping, carpet cleaning, spot cleaning, etc.
• Wash windows, walls, light fixtures and ceilings.
• Clean hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, etc.
• Clean up emergency spills that may include biohazards (i.e., blood, vomit, raw sewage).
• Ensure facilities supplies (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, hand washing soap, etc.)
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and others.
• Assist with meeting room and special events set-up and breakdown as appropriate.
• Follow facility rules as they apply to safety, cleanliness and proper use of equipment and property.
• Spaces to include but not limited to classrooms, conference rooms, auditorium, gymnasium, hallways, rest rooms, offices and work areas
• Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Related college, trade or apprentice experience
preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of custodial/janitorial & maintenance experience
• Ability to operate various tools.
• Knowledge of floor cleaning equipment and operations to include buffers, waxers and wet/dry
vacuums.
• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and proper handling of toxic chemical solutions.
• Knowledge of HVAC and Fire systems alarm systems
• Knowledge of First Aid & Safety procedures including HAZMAT & Blood Bourne Pathogens
compliance.
• Must have excellent ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff and outside
contacts.
• Ability to lift from 60-75lbs.
• Ability to demonstrate company standards of Integrity & Respect.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.
• Must have valid driver's license and must be insurable under SEIs auto insurance.
