Responsibilities
- Receives repair orders and performs work as outlined on repair orders in accordance with factory and dealership standards
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs / documents repair
- Works closely with the shop foreman, managers, other service employees, and Parts department
- Examines vehicles to see if additional service is needed
- Documents work performed, time stamps, and any additional recommended work
- Road-tests vehicles
- Completes factory sponsored training as necessary
- Stays aware of factory bulletins and updates
- Maintains a safe and clean work space
- Follows all safety related policies, procedures, and laws
- Proven experience as auto mechanic
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g., lift)
- Valid TX driver's license and good driving record
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, which includes a background check, and drug test
- Attention to detail and workmanship
- Basic computer skills
- Skilled in written communication
- High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
- Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
