Position Description
Position Type: Full-time
Job Overview: SPS New England is seeking a skilled and reliable Auto Mechanic to join our team and provide high-quality maintenance and repair services for light trucks and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a variety of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, and be able to diagnose and fix mechanical issues efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Salary/Pay Range: $25/hr.- $60/hr. Dependent upon experience
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic tests on light trucks and vehicles to identify mechanical issues.
• Inspect and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, exhaust systems, and other vital components.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Repair or replace defective parts and components, including timing belts, spark plugs, alternators, and batteries.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and components, such as alternators, wiring, and lighting.
• Test vehicles to ensure that repairs and maintenance meet safety and performance standards.
• Maintain an organized work environment and ensure that tools, equipment, and parts are kept in good condition.
• Follow manufacturer's specifications and safety standards while performing repairs and maintenance.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and repair techniques.
• Maintain accurate service records for each vehicle worked on.

Position Requirements
Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an auto mechanic, with a focus on light trucks and vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
• ASE certification (or similar certification) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
