To thrive as an Apprentice Aircraft Mechanic, you need a foundational understanding of aircraft systems, mechanical aptitude, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require enrollment in an FAA-approved program. Familiarity with common hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance tracking software is essential, and pursuing an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is highly advantageous.
