This position serves as an entry point into the HVAC trade, where the apprentice will work closely under the supervision of experienced technicians to develop technical skills and industry knowledge. The major end result of this role is to prepare the apprentice to become a fully qualified HVAC installer capable of independently handling complex installation projects. The apprentice will gain exposure to various HVAC equipment, tools, and safety protocols, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the trade. Ultimately, this role contributes to delivering comfortable and efficient climate control solutions to residential and commercial clients across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and willingness to learn technical skills.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Strong commitment to safety and following instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or coursework in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical fields.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in HVAC installation.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and circuitry.
  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or willingness to obtain.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced HVAC installers in the setup and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and installation manuals to support accurate system assembly and placement.
  • Perform basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, assembling ductwork, and mounting equipment under supervision.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and routine maintenance activities to understand system functionality and common issues.
  • Attend training sessions and complete coursework related to HVAC systems, safety practices, and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
