The College of Agriculture Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at Louisiana State university seeks applicants for a 9-month Instructor position. The position is described as 100% teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and teaching of eight undergraduate courses per year covering a range of topics within the field of agricultural economics and agribusiness.

Job Duties:

100% - Responsible for the development and teaching of eight undergraduate courses per year covering a range of topics within the field of agricultural economics and agribusiness. Potential courses assigned to the successful candidate would include introduction to agricultural economics, agribusiness management, agribusiness sales, commodity and food marketing, futures and options trading, agricultural finance, farm and rural land appraisal, and related subject areas. The successful candidate may have future opportunities to assist with undergraduate student advising and recruiting, assist with the undergraduate internship program, and provide leadership in student activities, clubs and organizations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Economics, or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous undergraduate teaching experience is preferred. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply-a degree is not required if the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary commensurate with training, experience, and ability. Insurance, medical and related fringe benefits are available as part of the benefits package.
