Job Title: Student Worker - Athletics Applied Performance

Job Classification: Health and Recreation Services, Student

Job Description: 

Purpose:
The Baylor Applied Performance department is looking for candidates for an Applied Performance Science Student Worker position for the Summer/Fall 2026 semester. The individual(s) in this position will gain practical sports science-related experience at a premier Division 1, Big 12 Conference institution. There will be opportunities to provide varying levels of support to several of Baylor Universities varsity sport programs. The successful applicant will report to the Director for Applied Performance.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support designated sport teams in the management of performance technologies, data collection, data analysis.
- Assist in the education of student-athletes regarding recovery strategies, performance optimization, and overall wellness.
- Communicate and collaborate with staff members from other Sports Performance departments.
- Perform other administrative and logistical duties as required.
Preferred Qualification & Skills:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or in a related field. CPR/First Aid Certified.
- -Background or interest in any of the following fields: Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Sports Nutrition, Data Science, Sports Analytics, Sport Coaching.
- Experience with various software applications (Microsoft Office, R, Python, Catapult OpenField, etc.).
- A strong work ethic, effective communication skills, ability to function as a member of a team, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and proactivity.
Avg Hours per Week: Commitment to 10 hours per week
Work Hours:
Business hours; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday plus evenings and weekends
