Guidehouse is seeking a Health Scientist - Senior Associate to support a federal public health surveillance program focused on neurological conditions. This role will support scientific, epidemiologic, and surveillance activities that help a federal health client maintain, refine, routinize, expand, and disseminate population-based surveillance information. The Health Scientist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting neuroepidemiology, surveillance science, data analytics, scientific documentation, dissemination, and research translation. The role will help translate complex evidence, data, methods, and analytic findings into high-quality scientific products that support public health decision-making, research, and practice.
Responsibilities may include:

Conduct systematic, targeted, and rapid literature reviews to support surveillance methods, case definition development, evidence gap identification, and research prioritization.
Support the development, refinement, documentation, and application of case definitions, surveillance methods, abstraction tools, decision rules, and review protocols.
Review, synthesize, and interpret scientific literature, surveillance evidence, analytic findings, and data outputs to support surveillance estimates and public health products.
Support validation studies and other epidemiologic analyses, including interpretation of findings, review of analytic outputs, quality checks, and documentation of methods and limitations.
Collaborate with data analytics, visualization, communications, clinical neurology, and program management teams to produce scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations, tables, figures, maps, dashboards, and leadership-ready summaries.

Provide review of scientific and technical deliverables to ensure methodological rigor, consistency, clarity, and alignment with client expectations.
Support dissemination of surveillance methods, findings, and products through manuscripts, reports, conference materials, briefings, stakeholder materials, and web-ready content.
Coordinate with project leadership, federal client staff, subject matter experts, and multidisciplinary team members to track priorities, resolve issues, and maintain timely delivery of high-quality work products.
Mentor or guide junior staff supporting literature review, abstraction, evidence synthesis, documentation, and surveillance-related deliverables.
Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining scientific accuracy, transparency, and reproducibility.
What You Will Need:

Strong writing, editing, synthesis, and quality review skills, including the ability to translate technical content into clear scientific and programmatic deliverables.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, documents, and review cycles.
Ability to collaborate with epidemiologists, analysts, clinicians, data scientists, communications specialists, and federal client stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint or similar collaboration and documentation tools.
Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI clearance.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Master's degree or doctoral degree in public health, epidemiology, health science, neuroscience, biostatistics, health services research, or a related field.
