* You will conduct research and development activities related to U.S. Missile Defense systems.
* You will assist in the development, testing, and analysis of new concepts related to sensing, engagement, and fire control.
* You will implement algorithms and design modeling and simulation components of systems.
* You will develop AI/ML-based concepts and technical solutions to solve challenging problems.
* You will apply novel data fusion and tracking concepts for object tracking and discrimination applications.
* You will analyze simulation outputs and translate results into clear insights for the research sponsor.
* You will deliver presentations to technical staff, program leadership, and government sponsors.
* You will develop prototype capabilities and work with partner organizations to transition ideas to fielded systems. Qualifications You meet the minimum requirements for the job if you... * Possess a Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Have 5+ years of professional experience
* Are detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Have familiarity with probabilistic algorithms and numerical methods
* Have programming experience with MATLAB, C++, Python, or other high-level programming languages.
* Are highly self-motivated to dig into data to root cause issues and to understand system performance.
* Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team, as well as effective collaboration skills with other teams and contractors.
* Hold an active Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret / SCI level clearance. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
