DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Systems Engineer, Technical Associate, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Systems Engineer, Technical Associate, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: work with product owners, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and lead IR solution development; designing of information and data flows for software application development; designing and developing scalable ETL and real-time data pipelines using Python, Scala, Java, Kafka, HBase, Elasticsearch and Spark on AWS and on-premise platforms; managing data storage and analytics by leveraging databases and data warehouses including PostgresSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server; developing enterprise applications and REST APIs with Java, Spring Framework, J2EE and Web Services to support seamless business integration; automating infrastructure deployment and manage cloud resources utilizing Terraform, Docker, Git and Jenkins; and deploying and managing applications using AWS services including EMR, EKS/ECS, EC2, S3 and Lambdas.
