Location: Santa Rosa, Guerneville, Sonoma, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Windsor Cities Only !

Job Type: PART-TIME

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 2-8pm. Must have afternoon and evening availability.

Work Setting: In-home or In-clinic

Compensation: $20โ€“$24/hour, based on experience and training received. Increase after you obtain your Training and RBT certification!

Youโ€™ll support children in developing communication, problem-solving, and social skills. Weโ€™re hiring entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are ready to grow their careers.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As a Behavior Technician at BTS, youโ€™ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the childโ€™s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2โ€“3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups youโ€™re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities

  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately

  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support

  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions

Qualifications

  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children

  • 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a must.

  • Preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.

  • Highly Preferred: Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification, or those who have already completed an ABA Paraprofessional training certificate (RBT, BCAT, ABAT) training course and hold a certificate.

  • Spanish-speaking is a plus!

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively

  • Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Requirements

  • Training Requirements

    • Must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment.

    • RBT certification is not required to apply, but the 40-hour training must be completed before your start date.

    • Candidates are encouraged to begin or complete the training in advance, as it is a pre-employment requirement and a valuable investment in your career growth.

  • This requirement may be waived if you already have one of the following:

    • Active RBT, BCAT, or ABAT certification

    • A 30-hour (or more) ABA training certificate

    • A training log signed by a BCBA verifying at least 30 hours of ABA training

    • A signed HR certificate confirming completion of at least 30 hours of relevant training

  • Must obtain RBT certification within 6 months of employment as a condition of continued employment, or maintain an active BCAT or ABAT certification.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 18 years of age.

  • This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driverโ€™s license, and auto insurance.

  • This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)

  • This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year).
