IT Applications Manager

Executive search firm specializing in national IT technical searches is looking for an IT Applications Manager for their $1B dollar global consumer products client in the Greater Chicago area. The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of experience managing and leading an IT Application Development team. The IT Application Manager will play an integral role in supporting of all user facing applications and associate back-office processes; overseeing the full cycle of gathering, designing, coding, implementation, and maintenance of all custom development. The Applications Manager will also serve as the liaison between the business unit management team requesting projects and software programmers.

Specific job function:

  • Owner of the SDLC (System Development Lifecycle) for ERP system and other Web-based applications for North American sites
  • Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications necessary for business operations.
  • Translates approved project requests into actionable items for the programmer
  • Ensures clear and concise communication with the user community in all aspects of business systems work.
  • Designs, develops and supports business analytics utilizing multiple data warehouses. Supports user community with report certification.
  • Prioritizes and allocates work on applications projects according to available capacity and business defined priorities
  • Review, direct, and monitor resources and system scheduling requirements.
  • Insure training and documentation needs are addressed.
  • Develop, lead, and mentor staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience in IT Business Analysis the applications development area.
  • Packaged software implementation experience.
  • Project management experience with cross functional teams.
  • Experience with QAD, SharePoint, ASP.NET, Progress and CyberQuery preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and work in a high stress environment

Salary Range: $130k- $140k+ Competitive benefits package included
