Raytheon is seeking aPrincipal Electrical Component Engineerto join the Parts, Libraries and Obsolescence (PLO) Department.

This is anon-sitebased position in Tuscon, AZ.

The selected candidate will perform and/orassistin the performance of Components Engineering or Applications Engineering tasks supporting airborne, ground, and tacticalmissileplatforms/programs in the proposal,Low RateInitial Production (LRIP), production and support phases.

This position will require day-to-day interface with designers, suppliers, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Parts Obsolescence Lead/Managers (POL), Product Development Engineers (PDE), Electronic Computer Aided Design (ECAD), Program Management Office (PMO), and other disciplines. This role also entails supportingparts selection, parts standardization, parts applicationresponsibilitiesand Parts Verification analysis supporting the program applicationapproval through aprogramParts and Materials Control Board (PMCB)comprisedof members both internal to Raytheon and from customer organizations. Some travel to integration sites, customer facilities, and subcontractor facilities may berequired.

What You Will Do:

  • Understand program requirements and Statements of Work (SOWs) todetermineprogramcomponentenvironmental / characteristic application requirements.

  • Provide technology insertion and parts selection/standardization guidance while adhering to business,componentparametric, application environmental and circuit application constraints.

  • Generate and revisecomponentdrawings and associated verification data packages.

  • Review of electroniccomponentand assembly reliability and construction data, and preparation of such data as tofacilitatePart and Material Control Board review and adjudication.

  • Perform alternate part investigations and generate comparison matrices showing the differences and similarities of the parts.

  • Interface with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers/manufacturers to developcomponentrisk and verification delineation.

  • Facilitatecomponentselection and libraries application through the coordination and generation of the program Bill of Material (BOM) in a collaboration toolset.

  • Presentcomponentstandardization, design library, obsolescencemanagementand termination finish risk results in support of design reviews for a program.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires aBachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)andminimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:

  • Experience witha wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical part commodities includingintegrated circuits, semiconductors, and passive devices.

  • Knowledge ofcomponentselection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military and aerospace flight applications.

  • Knowledge of Component MIL drawings, standards, test specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs.

  • Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineeringor other related science or engineering discipline

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with project or task management.

  • Knowledge ofcomponentfailure modes by commodity.

  • Experience with root cause corrective action (RCCA)

  • Knowledge ofcomponentreliability processmonitorsand/or qualification methodologies.

  • Knowledge of circuit card and PWB manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with RF components and interconnect devices.

  • Experience with the use or adaptation of Commercial OffTheShelf (COTS) products in a military system.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
