Overview
East Penn is currently seeking an IT/OT Engineer I who supports the integration, reliability, security, and day-to-day operation of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) systems within the organization and works closely with IT, engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to maintain and troubleshoot technology supporting critical operational processes. The position assists with system implementation, configuration, monitoring, documentation, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement while developing expertise in IT/OT technologies, standards, and best practices.
The IT/OT Systems Engineer I will partner with manufacturing support to provide 99.999 uptime objectives to all systems used by the plant operations. Managing incidents with a sense of urgency and provide updates to management is required.
The IT/OT Systems Engineer I should be resourceful, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues. This role also requires patience and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and end users.
Responsibilities
  • Install and configure software and hardware as necessary.
  • Provide asset management, including maintenance and inventory of all devices using our CMDB software.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Provide disaster recovery and high availability solutions to meet company 7X24X365 needs
  • Perform system upgrades to OS and hardware.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP and Active Directory on daily basis.
  • Build an internal knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
  • Provide end user support at workstation levels as needed.
  • Configure systems to meet compliance requirements with GDPR, ITAR and NIST 800.
  • After hours support or project work as required.

Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
Required:
  • Prior experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
  • ITAR Compliance, NIST 800-171 or other equivalent security experience.
  • ITIL experience is a plus
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • What's Up Gold experience is a plus
  • Virtual server management with VMWare
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: * To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

  • Industry Security Certifications
  • MCSA

Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent level of education, training, and work-related experience may be considered
  • MCSA, VMWare VCP, or CompTIA Server+

Skills & Competencies
Required:
  • Technical understanding of DHCP, DNS and Active Directory.
  • Ability to create scripts in PowerShell or other languages.
  • Ability to manage risk/security and changing direction of projects.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on assessment and resolution of issues
  • Ability to analyze problems and formulate alternative/creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively; can work effectively in high-pressure situations that require clear and sound decisions/actions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player with proven ability to work across functional areas and all levels of the organization
  • A high standard in work quality and ability to follow through is a must.
