Job description


Major Functions and Responsibilities:
  • An Applications Team Leader manages Applications Engineers, as well as participates in typical Applications Engineering functions including Test Program and Test Hardware development.
  • Ensure the performance of the Applications Engineers assigned to the team is being maintained by assisting, training and giving guidance to the individuals.
  • Review and deliver team members' performance assessments based on Cohu's PDE process.
    Actively pushes for improvement plans in case of low performance.
  • Prioritizes tasks among the team.
  • Takes an active role in the development and coaching of the Applications Team assigned, identifies training needs for the team.
  • Identifies areas of improvement and enhances overall performance quality
  • Provides active and positive communication to maintain a strong sense of teamwork
  • Escalation management to the Applications Management within the ST group.
  • Ensures that all customer inquiries are responded to on time and professionally
  • Technical guidance and leadership for the team as part of application development projects.
  • Coordinate on-site and off-site support activities for customers (including ramp-up support for production at customer site, on-site troubleshooting, technology and methodical support for customers).
  • Co-operate with the Applications Team worldwide to meet goals, objectives and functions as defined above.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Participate frequently in customer meetings and foster all levels of communications with customers
  • Focus on existing business processes and their appropriate usage as well as continued improvement of existing processes
  • Report SPR's (system performance reports) upon detecting any issues on the tester operating systems
  • Write application notes and papers for internal and customer use

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Engineering / University degree or similar education
Experience 5+ years of experience in the ATE and/or semiconductor industry, preferably as an Applications Engineer.
Achievements
  • Experience and execution of successful projects as an Applications Engineer or similar.
    • Direct responsibility for key customer support for 3+ years
      • Experience and contribution in key benchmarks

Specific Knowledge English knowledge (written and spoken)
Mandarin knowledge very beneficial
Personal Qualifications Programming skills, good interpersonal skills, good understanding of electronics and electrical engineering, creative, communicative, flexible, organized willing to learn, willingness to travel, collaborate with other cultures, able to work in international teams.
